Top 10 videos of 2013: Q2

Featuring the top 10 most-watched videos for the second quarter of 2013.

Design Indaba's 10 most-watched videos for the second quarter of 2013 include an array of dynamic interviews with the world’s foremost designers and thought leaders.

Our interviews with chef Alex Atala, architect David Adjaye and graphic designer Louise Fili at Design Indaba Conference 2013 ranked among the favourites this term. Other Conference highlights on Design Indaba TV included Steven Heller talking about why a multidisciplinary approach is essential to avoid insulation and repetition while designing, and Christoph Niemann on combining both the expected and unexpected in illustration. There’s also John Maeda on the need for creative people to become empowered leaders.

The interviews with the 2013 Emerging Creatives was another firm favourite this quarter, as was our interview with Michael Wolff in his capacity as the inaugural Design Indaba Visiting Professor at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.

Be sure to also watch Leanie van der Vyver, creator of the Scary Beautiful shoes, talk about the notion of where “sexy ends and grotesque begins”. Or get stuck into Japanese designer Shunji Yamanaka’s speaker talk, in which he discusses designing to make people happy.
